Teaching Fundamentals Academy
Making Connections for Learners



Helping teachers help students...

Important Session Information:


Participants of the Teaching Fundamentals  Academy will be guided through the process of content acquisition for students and how to help students make connections.

Participants will take part in a demonstration lesson and break down the activities and strategies used to make connections for students.  This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Identifying Concepts
  • Use of Vocabulary
  • Bringing an awareness to Misconceptions
  • Scaffolding from where students are to the knowledge and skills the teacher wants them to attain

Participants will also work on how to create a lesson, or mini-lesson, to incorporate these components.
