Every Writing Teacher knows that to be a successful writer, one needs to address the Six Traits. In this workshop, participants will address the final trait: Conventions. We will be exploring different ways to work on the revision of essays for conventions and grammar.
Demonstration activities will be provided for teachers to take part in, analyze, and use as model activities. Discussions and planning will take place recording what the process looked like in it's original form, how it could be accommodated for different grade levels and student levels as well.
In the afternoon, a portion of time will be dedicated to the sharing of ideas. Teachers are asked to bring their best ideas of how they incorporate grammar into their own daily lessons. Tables will be divided up into the different editing foci:
- Grammar
- Capitalization
- Punctuation
- Spelling
- Revision Practice
