Navigating the TEKS Resource System
Through the Eyes of an Elementary Librarian

Participants will be given the instruction of how to navigate the T.R.S. system and apply it to their content area(s).

Important Session Information:

Elementary Librarians will be taken through a demonstration of how to incorporate teachers' TEKS Resource System components into Library Time!  Areas to be addressed are:

  • What are the concepts being taught in the classroom?
  • What is the vocabulary that needs to be supported?
  • What skills are students working on that can be extended during library time?

Be ready to take part in a Library Time, then break it down into what steps are taken to create this time.  Finally, librarians will brainstorm, buddy-up, and build a Library Time of their own.
