AllAccess: Exploring the Possibilities of Alternative Access and AAC
Presented by Betty Carter M.A., CCC/SLP

There are many individuals who can access augmentative alternative communication (AAC) with the touch of a finger. However, there are also a significant number of people with more complex physical disabilities that require an alternative to touching a screen.

This session will encourage participants to "explore the possibilities" for clients with complex communication and access needs. It is a half day training set in a lab environment with a focus on providing participants hands-on experience with all of the various access methods PRC offers. From touch to eye gaze and many things in between, the training includes: - How to get started quickly with eye gaze, head pointing, switches and touch access. - Basic customization to meet client needs - Clinical tips and video examples - Guided practice and hands-on exploration

Important Session Information:

There are 0.3 ASHA CEUs available for SLPs that participate for the entire duration of the class. No partial credit is awarded.

Region 17 does not endorse one product over any other product as all systems and materials should be individualized based on recommendations from current assessment, IEP recommendations, and academic/communication needs.
