Hands On Mathematics - Going from Concrete to Abstract
Two Day Training - not required to attend both, activities will be different

Register for one day or both!

Concrete, Representational, Abstract are all written directly into our TEKS.

Teachers will learn many different ways to incorporate the use of manipulatives into their classrooms. This two day training will focus on the concrete objects that are written into our standards. Many teachers caution from using manipulatives in their classroom because of lack of knowledge or lack of time. We will discuss why it is necessary to take the time to learn how to use both concrete and representational objects in developing lasting math concepts.

Things on the agenda: Algebra Tiles, two color counters, geoboards, linking cubes, sentence strips and strip diagrams, fractional parts, etc.
