Building and Sustaining a Foundation of Reading: Enhancing the Love of Reading for Migrant SSA Students

Please join us at Barnes and Noble in Lubbock for a workshop in which we discuss the importance of "Building a Foundation of Reading" which is one of the Commissioners Priorities for Texas School Districts.  Terry Handley from Barnes and Noble has compiled a list of books for Pre-K through 12th graders for our Migrant SSA District Staff to share with their Migrant Students.  Ms. Handley will highlight some of the books for us and also share with us suggested activities districts can use to distribute the books and strategies for students, parents, and staff members to share in the joys of reading.

We are asking for at least one representative from each SSA district to attend the workshop and at the conclusion of the workshop to pick up the books for each school.  These books are only to be used for Migrant students and their families.
