SLO (Student Learning Objectives) Training

The overall T-TESS process is designed to support teachers in their professional development and help them grow and improve as educators.

T-TESS has two measures of teacher effectiveness:

  • T-TESS Rubric (based on four domains of practice)
  • Student Growth

Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) are one option to measure student growth for the system. Districts may choose multiple measures, provided that there is consistency throughout the district for a particular grade and subject. Districts must fully implement student growth OR complete a waiver for a partial implementation for the '17-'18 school year. Join us for training around the SLO model.

Important Session Information:

SLOs (Student Learning Objectives) are one way to measure student growth in a given school year. They can contribute to teacher evaluation or simply contribute to a teacher's self-reflection around instructional practice. Come learn how to approach student growth in a reflective and measurable way that fits within your existing assessment and assignment.
