Hatton Sumners Institute on the Founding Documents
Presented by Texas Law Related Education



This three day, 18-hour institute, with option for two more days, is a favorite of secondary teachers. Teachers can register for this session plus the two additional sessions on Thursday and Friday. Thursday's topic will be the Amendments and Friday's topic will be the Oyez Update with the LRE scholars. Topics for the three day session include:
• The Declaration of Independence
• The influence of ancient and European documents on the development of the U.S. Constitution
• American documents before the creation of the U.S. Constitution
• The Constitutional Convention
• Reenactment of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist debate
• A walk through the seven articles of the Constitution.

Also, you can sign up/register for two more additional days focusing on the Constitutional Amendments on Thursday (session #626097) and Oyez Update with the LRE Scholars on Friday ( session # 626098). 

 The agenda(s) are divided into blocks of time spent with scholars and breakout sessions with consultants. Special choice sessions will be offered to allow participants to select topics most applicable to their grade level. During the sessions with consultants teachers will experience LRE resources to use to engage their students with the content. Each participant will receive: • A flash drive with all program materials • Law-Related Education materials which support the curriculum • 18 hours of CPE credit • Lunch This training is free of charge!
