Migrant Education Priority for Service (PFS) 2017-2018 Implementation Process
Brownfield ISD ONLY

Based on guidance from the Office of Migrant Education in Washington, D.C., TEA is implementing a new process for districts and service centers to document the service/implementation provided to Migrant Priority for Service Students.  This will include documentation of PFS student progress.  Districts will be required to submit documentation to Region 17 and then quarterly TEA will randomly select names of districts and names of PFS students for ESCs to forward this documentation to TEA.  TEA will then review the documentation and make recommendations, as appropriate.  This workshop will provide the districts with the steps required for implementing this new process, as well as providing the required forms.  To effectively implement this process, we are asking that Federal Program Directors, Recruiters and NGS Data Specialists attend this training.  The district will need to document services provided for PFS students with both MEP funds and other funds.  After this training, districts will need to assign appropriate staff to carry out each step of this new process and provide Region 17 with the name of the district contact person who will be submitting the necessary forms to Region 17.
