Trauma Informed Care 101: What Exactly is It?



This presentation will introduce the core tenets of Trauma Informed Care (TIC).  Attendees will concretely define what TIC means, what specific behaviors are consistent with TIC, and what practices are inconsistent with TIC.  Attendees will learn basic information about child maltreatment, evidence based treatments for child maltreatment, and common misdiagnoses for children who have experienced child maltreatment.  Attendees will also be given extensive information on vicarious trauma and strategies for responding and managing vicarious trauma as a provider.
