The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training program focuses on preventing disruptive behavior by communicating with students respectfully and with concern for their well-being. The program teaches physical interventions to be used only as a last resort, when a student presents an imminent danger to self or others. All physical interventions are designed to be nonharmful and noninvasive, and to maintain the student's dignity.
Participants must be in good physical health (capable of bending,lifting,etc.). Please dress comfortably and wear closed toe shoes.
Participation is limited to school employees within the Region 17 ESC catchment area.
This workshop is for participants who are new to CPI and/or their certificate is expired.
