TEA's Resource Guide Training: Account Coding

This workshop will review and discuss in detail the account codes mandated by TEA in the Financial Accountability System Resource Guide.  Due to the numerous accounts, we will not attempt to review each and every code.  The goal of the workshop will be to help participants understand the sections and purposes of the various parts of the twenty digit code structure. The workshop will also provide a working knowledge of how to locate appropriate account codes by exploring the various parts of the account code by section and finding answers to common items coded every day by school districts.  We will review each section of the account code including: fund, function, object, sub-object, organization, fiscal year, program intent code and other local option codes.

This class is recommended for anyone who wants a detailed review of the account coding section of the FAR guide and for anyone that is new to the responsibility for coding transactions of the district.  Staff whose job responsibilities include account coding of purchase orders, budgeting, and payroll will benefit from attending this presentation.

This workshop is for members of the Business Services Level 2 Contract.
