Business Services - Operational Training Workshop

Business Services Operational Workshops are designed to provide district staff with focused, practical training that builds knowledge and strengthens skills in key business operations. This workshop will cover three important topics designed to support district compliance, efficiency, and financial stewardship.

Important Session Information:

This workshop will cover three important topics designed to support district compliance, efficiency, and financial stewardship.
The first topic will focus on Child Nutrition Program compliance requirements, including program and non-program revenue and expenditure ratio requirements, as well as other compliance areas that may result in audit findings or fiscal year financial reporting issues. Participants will gain a better understanding of these requirements and learn strategies to help ensure compliance.
The second topic will address payroll distribution coding and the importance of ensuring payroll charges align with the district's master schedule. Attendees will learn best practices for reviewing and validating coding to support accurate financial reporting and compliance.
The final topic will focus on effective grant management. As TEA continues to increase financial compliance reviews of federally funded programs, districts must maintain organized records and documentation. This session will provide guidance on establishing efficient processes for record retention, responding to TEA requests, and managing grant funds effectively. Participants will also learn strategies to help ensure grant funds are expended timely and in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Join us for this informative workshop to gain practical knowledge, strengthen compliance practices, and learn actionable strategies that can help your district confidently manage these critical business operations.
