The Depth and Complexity Framework provides teachers the tools to empower learners to be independent thinkers and creative problem-solvers. Applicable to any content and grade level, this framework is an intentional way to differentiate for all students, especially advanced thinkers, and promote expert thinking within and across learning. The framework utilizes visual icons to support dual-coding theory and is easy to implement for teachers. This session will provide time for educators to engage with the different parts of the framework, including the icons, and explore different ways to embed these thinking skills, such as questioning, student work, graphic organizers, and collaboration, into classroom instruction.
Let's purposefully integrate the Depth and Complexity Framework in our classrooms and teach students to be active participants in their learning!
