McKinney Vento 101: Building a Strong Foundation
Are you new to the role of McKinney-Vento liaison? Join us for this interactive virtual training designed to help district and campus staff build confidence in supporting students experiencing homelessness. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the federal McKinney-Vento Act, learn the essential responsibilities of a liaison, and explore strategies for identifying eligible students, removing barriers to enrollment and attendance, and ensuring access to educational opportunities. Through real-world scenarios, resource sharing, and collaborative discussion, attendees will leave with tools, guidance, and connections to successfully navigate their role and advocate for students and families. Whether you are brand new to the position or looking for a refresher on the fundamentals, this session will provide a solid foundation for serving students with dignity, compassion, and compliance.
