This workshop will be lead by TEA Federal Fiscal Monitoring staff.

This session offers a comprehensive walkthrough of the Texas Education Agency’s federal fiscal grant review process. By utilizing the updated Audit Protocol and led by TEA Federal Fiscal Monitoring (FFM) staff, this session will provide participants with clarity on each phase of the monitoring cycle—from the initial notification letter to the final report—through real-world examples, timelines, and documentation expectations.

Some topics include:

  • Policies and procedures testing
  • Financial management systems review
  • Transaction testing for payroll and nonpayroll expenditures
  • Additional areas of testing

 

Together, we’ll explore practical strategies and examples to ensure compliance, protect resources, and support the success of programs serving students across the South Plains.
