Elementary Music - Day of Discovery

Join us for a day of stories, laughing, relating, and creating!

Anna Jo Knight, 31 year teaching veteran, helps us to discover the teacher we WANT to be in a world of SHOULD BEs. We will discuss self-care and self awareness for the elementary music teacher. No more fitting into “the box.”

Then, we will create a song from beginning to end to demonstrate one of her favorite projects for her classes of any age. From rhythmic discovery to actually writing the notes and lyrics, participants will have a hands on opportunity to become a composer from the mind of a child.

Filled with personal stories and an eclectic personality, Knight demonstrates through her
presentation how to touch students of different learning styles and different interests. Her goal is for attendees to leave with ideas that can be easily plugged into current curriculum with some ideas that are ready to go! It will be a journey with the Note Family, Note Knacks, some recorder fun, and a personal measure of your own real estate!
