What are the RBIS?

Research-based instructional strategies are 3-5 instructional strategies in each content
area that represent the most significant changes needed to bridge the gap between
research and practice.

The Math RBIS Include:

• Depth and Coherence of Key Concepts and Procedures
• Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Fluency, and Automaticity
• Effective Explicit Instruction for Novice Learners
• Effective Practice for Mathematical Independence

Who should attend the RBIS for Math Training?

• District and campus leaders seeking to strengthen mathematics instruction in their school(s)
• District and campus leaders who are implementing High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) in the area of mathematics
