Unlocking Handwriting: Multisensory Strategies for Targeted Dysgraphia Intervention
Repeated Session, Designated for New Attendees Only

Join us for a hands-on, engaging workshop designed to equip you with targeted, evidence-based strategies and routines to support students with dysgraphia and handwriting challenges. Through interactive activities and practical takeaways, you'll explore the foundational components of strong handwriting, including fine motor development, posture, paper positioning, and pencil grip, while discovering powerful techniques you can use right away to activate multiple learning pathways in the brain and improve legibility, efficiency, and writing confidence. Attendees will participate in structured, multisensory activities that address common handwriting difficulties, such as poor letter formation, inconsistent size and spacing, and inefficient writing habits, and will leave with a dynamic instructional plan that blends movement, structure, and fun to support handwriting development in both print and cursive. Come ready to learn, move, and leave inspired with effective tools to help your students thrive.

Important Session Information:

Learning Outcomes:
  • Identify the key characteristics of dysgraphia and how weaknesses in orthographic processing, graphomotor skills, and underlying visual-motor or language-based processing abilities contribute to handwriting challenges.
  • Apply targeted, evidence-based foundational skill building strategies to strengthen graphomotor skills, including posture, paper placement, and pencil grip to support the mechanics of handwriting.
  • Demonstrate effective multisensory techniques for teaching accurate letter formation in print and cursive while addressing challenges related to letter size, spacing, and placement of letters on the line.
  • Learn how a developmental teaching order that structures your handwriting interventions will progressively build skills for print and cursive handwriting.
  • Apply multisensory and brain-based instructional strategies that enhance learning, improve letter formation, and increase overall writing fluency and consistency.
  • Design a developmentally appropriate and movement-rich instructional plan that integrates hands-on routines and targeted handwriting remediation to support growth in both print and cursive.

This session is a repeat from 2/23/26 and is designated for new attendees only.
