RLA STAAR-Prep 2026: Elementary Edition
Filling the Gap-Raising the Bar

3rd-5th Grades

Important Session Information:

In this professional learning, teachers will review STAAR data, evaluate released STAAR questions, analyze student misconceptions, and address how to prepare students' thinking for the 2026 STAAR Assessment.

Teachers will take part in annotation excercises, questioning rounds, and take time to evaluate their own comprehension of and connections to the sample texts.  The process of creating a Short-Constructed and an Extended-Constructed Response will be explored, analyzed, and improved for your students' success.  Time will be taken for teachers to review the practices, discuss with each other, and plan how each practice will be implemented in their classrooms.

NOTE: This workshop will not result in a carbon copy, ten-day review schedule for every participant.  Each teacher will create a plan to address multiple STAAR challenges  that can be embedded into their instructional plan.
