Texas State Historical Association Presents: The Civil War and Texas



Take your students' learning from evidence to understanding as you empower your students to think like historians!

In this hands-on professional development workshop integrating the Library of Congress’ Teaching with Primary Sources program and TSHA’s The Handbook of Texas, educators will explore strategies for using digitized primary sources alongside the authoritative, curriculum-aligned entries of The Handbook of Texas. Participants will learn practical methods to strengthen critical thinking, analysis skills, and historical content knowledge while designing engaging, Civil War lessons that bring the past to life in their classrooms.
