Beyond Acceleration: Elevating Gifted & Talented Learners Through Career & Technical Education

Gifted & Talented (GT) students thrive when learning moves beyond acceleration and into authentic challenge, innovation, and real-world problem solving. This interactive session explores how Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs provide powerful opportunities to meet the unique academic, creative, and leadership needs of GT learners.
Participants will examine strategies for integrating GT instructional best practices into CTE classrooms, including advanced problem-based learning, industry-aligned research projects, mentorship models, differentiated performance tasks, and innovation-driven assessments. The session will also address how CTE Programs of Study can serve as rigorous pathways that cultivate high-level thinking, creativity, and workforce readiness for advanced learners.
Teachers and leaders will leave with practical tools, classroom strategies, and program-level ideas to intentionally design CTE learning experiences that challenge and empower GT students while maintaining equitable access for all learners.
