This comprehensive training combines key components from TEA’s Rubric of Effective Practices Series to strengthen both instructional design and team collaboration for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Participants will learn strategies for crafting meaningful, standards-aligned instruction that meets diverse and complex access needs, including identifying prerequisite access points to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
In addition, participants will explore how effective teamwork enhances instructional outcomes and supports smooth student transitions across educational environments. Topics include defining clear team roles and responsibilities, fostering communication between teachers and paraprofessionals, and using data-driven decision-making to guide supports and interventions. Through practical examples and discussion, attendees will leave with actionable tools to design effective instruction, collaborate more efficiently, and foster a student-centered learning environment.
