Addressing and Filling the RLA Gaps
New Home Secondary RLA



Secondary RLA 

Important Session Information:


In this professional learning PLC, New Home Secondary RLA teachers will come together to address instructional practices to impact student growth. Discussions and practice will take place in the following areas:

  • Analyzing the RLA STAAR Blueprints,
  • Exploring the Raw Score Conversion Charts,
  • Moving Students from 'Approaches' to 'Meets' and 'Meets' to 'Masters',
  • Addressing the Benefits of Multiple Genres of Texts,
  • Using a Consistent Short-Constructed Response format for Oral and Written Responses,
  • Comparing the rigor and effectiveness of Assessment Items,
  • Creating TEKS-Aligned Assessments in Eduphoria, and
  • Planning for Student Growth on Extended-Constructed Responses through Specific Element Targeting.
As time allows, other teacher-led objectives will be addressed that contribute to student success.
