Year-Round RLA STAAR Prep. (Secondary)
Diving Deep Into the ECR and SCR



Internalizing the details and specificity of the upcoming units' content, knowledge, and skills to impact effective instruction.

Important Session Information:


Secondary RLA Teachers will be taken through the Rater's Notes of the Released 2025 STAAR.  As a team, we will dissect what makes an effective Extended Constructed Response.  We will explore different strategies to address how to improve 

  • Introductions and Conclusions,
  • Complete Answers,
  • Using Evidence,
  • Explaining how the evidence supports the answer,
  • Expression of Ideas with purposeful word choice and sentence structure, and 
  • The overall Organization and Development of Ideas.

This session is intended to give each teacher a plan for the year that will help grow their students' writing skills one step at a time.
