The Teaching Path-Region 17's First Year Teacher Academy
Day Six



The purpose of this academy is to provide new teachers a pathway for their first year in the classroom. These sessions will provide each teacher with the resources and support they need in order to enjoy a successful teaching career.  This series of six days will provide knowledge and skills to help new teachers succeed. At the end of this Academy, teachers will: 1- be able to utilize the lesson cycle to implement effective lessons, 2- be able to use instructional technology to improve teaching and assessment, 3- be open and active learners through professional development, 4- develop an effective mission statement, and 5- become a reflective practitioner.

Important Session Information:


Our Guideposts for the session will include:

  • Learning to use Assistive Technology in the Classroom Instruction,
  • Applying tools to instruction to scaffold or accommodate for students' learning, and
  • Goal Setting and next steps as a professional educator.
