How can K-2 teachers foster strong writers who are prepared to meet the rigor of 3rd grade RLA STAAR?
This session will begin by taking a quick a look at the writing that students are excepted to do on the 3rd-5th RLA STAAR test and then work backwards from there to discover the K-2 writing skills and strategies that build student success over time.
Participants will have hands-on opportunities to engage in meaningful writing practice, with a focus on:
- Knowledge and Vocabulary Building in Science and Social Studies
- Text-Based Responses (Talking and Writing about the Text)
- Revising in Authentic Ways
