Making Connections with Powerful Geography

Join Texas Alliance for Geographic Education  to learn about the many FREE resources that are available to geography educators!  Appropriate for K-12 teachers, this session will build on a foundation of geographic knowledge and incorporate sound pedagogy to help students develop critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills, including Powerful Geography.  Powerful Geography represents a new way of teaching and learning geography. It empowers teachers to make decisions on what to teach and makes connections between geography content and students' aspirations for future careers and community involvement. Powerful Geography was created by the Grosvenor Center for Geographic Education, and it provides teachers with meaningful ways to address Career and College Readiness Standards as well as helping teachers create more student-centered classrooms.
