Enhancing Fluency in Early Readers: Strategies for K-2 Teachers



In this interactive workshop, K-2 teachers will explore effective strategies to develop reading fluency in young learners. We will cover the essential components of fluency—Expression, Automatic Word Recognition, Rhythm/Phrasing, and Smoothness—while discussing how these elements impact overall reading comprehension.

Participants will learn practical techniques to incorporate fluency-building activities into their daily instruction. By the end of the workshop,K-2 teachers will leave with actionable tools to foster confident, fluent readers in their classrooms.
