Diving Into the New FLSA Requirements

New requirements have been issued for Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) which will be effective July 1, 2024. This workshop will inform participants of the changes to FLSA and highlight areas districts should review for compliance. Ronn P. Garcia, with the Underwood Law Firm, will present the new requirements and discuss areas districts should focus on reviewing for compliance with the new rules. Ronn will also review the additional changes in FLSA which will become effective January 1, 2025. Participants will be involved in group discussions focusing on sharing areas of concern in their districts and ideas on how they may be able to address those concerns to bring their district into compliance with the new regulations.

ESC17 is offering this workshop to all school districts to raise awareness of the new FLSA requirements and help districts plan to be in compliance when the new requirements begin July 1, 2024. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to hear about these important changes and share ideas with colleagues to ensure you have the information you need to implement these regulatory changes.
